Antoinette Tuff deserves a medal.

Every time I hear the 911 call with Antoinette Tuff relating all that was happening as she talked to the disturbed young man with the gun I am amazed.

Her calm handling of the situation kept a horrible tragedy from happening. I think President Obama should hold a White House ceremony in appreciation. And a medal for Ms. Tuff would be appropriate.

extreme of circumstances. There is so much trashing of teachers and administrators yet with Sandy Hook and with this near-tragedy, we have these ordinary people show extraordinary bravery.

I don't know how she did this. I am in awe of her.

Every parent in that school should hug her every day and every parent who complained about her union or voted for union busting republicans should pay her mortgage/gas/groceries for life. She is a hero!

Wouldn't it be a much better state of things if her actions were THE MOST COMMON in a situation like that?
Rather than pulling out an Uzi and shredding the guy?

What have we become that simply exhibiting common decency and humanity "deserve a medal"???

I get so sick of hearing the racists comments by right wingers and others.

when I heard Ms Tuff I was reminded of other black women in my life who have "saved" others.. with their support, their encouragement, strong direction, respect, empathy and understanding.

I wish her action would shut up the racists.

(CNN) – President Barack Obama said he plans to invite Antoinette Tuff to visit the White House.

Tuff is the hero bookkeeper who talked a suspect into surrendering during a Georgia school shooting Tuesday.

During an exclusive interview with CNN "New Day" anchor Chris Cuomo that airs Friday, Obama said what Tuff did was "remarkable" and something that "probably saved a lot of lives, including the life of the potential perpetrator."

"Here is somebody who is not just courage, not just cool under pressure, but also had enough heart that somehow she could convince somebody that was really troubled that she cared about him," Obama said."

There's more..
