Craig James: Being gay ‘is a choice … they are going to have to answer to the Lord’

Those of us with sports knowledge know what an idiot Craig James is. So here in all his glory I give you a major douchebag:

http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2012/02/24/youth-baseball-official-suspended-for-racist-facebook-rant-on-whitney-houston/#/2012/02/24/craig-james-being-gay-is-a-choice-they-are-going-to-have-to-answer-to-the-lord/

As you know, ESPN football analyst and former Patriots RB Craig James is running for the U.S. Senate out of Texas — which leads to my favorite political polling data paragraph of the month so far:

James, who formally launched his campaign last week, draws 4 percent support. The former SMU Mustang and New England Patriot running back is struggling to overcome two liabilities: he’s largely unknown and he’s unpopular among those who know him.

...right? I mean, I remember the day I chose to be heterosexual very clearly. /sarcasm"...

Now for my own 2 cents...

Dear Ex-sportscaster: A) It clearly isn't a choice B) There is no god, ergo there will be no mystical cloud-dweller they will have to answer to and C) Good luck in whatever your next chosen profession is because you won't be a politician or a sportscaster anytime soon...

Being gay could be a choice. 99% of the time I don't believe it is, but I'm sure there are some Kinsey 3s out there who would rather have a same-sex spouse (Cynthia Nixon springs to mind). Love who you love. It is most definitely none of my business.

Speaking of love, last time I checked, the god of love was, well, a loving god. Note: I do not believe in supernatural beings, but I am addressing the statement on its merits. So what's Loving God going to do with the choosers and the non-choosers? Love them, I would suppose.

The problem is the nasty judgment simmering in the subtext. Perhaps he does not see god as loving. That is too bad.

I know I'm oversimplifying, but this is how I manage to neutralize this filth in my head.

in a recent appearance she expressed her preference for women--her partner in particular. That's what I meant by people who can have sexual feelings for both genders. (I envy them).

She may have fallen in love with a man and chosen to stay with him, as has (so far) Anna Paquin.

Like I said, you love who you love.

And if you're lucky enough to transcend it all and become poly...you've hit the erotic jackpot.
