Tea Partied 2012 Republican presidential candidates Romney, Santorum and Gingrich as well as Tea Partied FABRICATION Congressional Committee Chair Darrell Issa, Tea Partied House Speaker John Boehner, Tea Partied Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, Tea Partied reality TV FOXifier Sarah Palin, and Tea Partied Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty want you to believe that President Obama is to blame for rising gas prices and that gas prices will MAGICALLY drop if he would just deregulate the FOUR BILLION DOLLARS oil industry interests receive in FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES and drill baby drill . All their MISINFORMED Obama bashing rhetoric does is SHOWCASE THEIR TOTAL IGNORANCE about the oil industry and gas pump prices.
Here are just a few of their MISINFORMED claims: the Obama administration has consistently blocked Americas energy production; domestic oil resources are being kept out of reach because of an intense regulatory bias and radical environmental activists both in the administration and elsewhere; I would reverse Obamas entire pattern of being anti-American energy; the decisions that the President is making on energy, and has been making since the beginning of his administration has made it very clear that America is not interested in developing our own energy resources; I would start by saying drill here drill now; this president has sat on his hands as it relates to drilling.
Here are the FACTS:
1. An EnviroKnow.com article entitled, Domestic Oil Production is Up 11% Under Obama and Was Down 15% Under Bush reports that while domestic production DECLINED under President Bush, falling from 5.8 million barrels per day to less than 5 million, production INCREASED 11% since Obama came into office. It would have increased even more if a pesky oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico hadnt intervened
2. An Environment.com article reports that under President Obama, domestic oil production has RISEN to the HIGHEST levels since 2003.
3. The Financial Times reports that analysts believe the US was the LARGEST contributor to the increase in global oil supplies last year over 2009 and is on track to increase domestic production by 25 percent by the second half of the decade.
4. The Environmental Information Administration reports that domestic oil production is soaring, BUT SO ARE GLOBAL PRICES. It should be obvious that yet more drilling CANT HAVE ANY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON OIL PRICES.
5. FactCheck.org confirmed that President Obamas net-import definition of US energy dependence related to oil imports accounting for less than half of US consumption gives a CLEARER INDICATION of the FRACTION of oil consumed that could not have been supplied from domestic sources and is thus the MOST APPROPRAITE measure.
If YOU or I can disclose the facts by simply reading, WHY CANT THE DRILL BABY DRILLERS DO THE SAME?

We need to keep on speaking out about the facts of gas prices and NOT let the Repubs control the narrative with lies and obfuscation.
