Medical Marijuana Provides Miraculous Results For 6-Year-Old Boy

Medical marijuana provides 'miraculous' results for 6-year-old California boy with rare form of epilepsy that prevented him from walking, sleeping and eating

o Jayden David suffers from a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome
o At one point, he was taking 22 different pills a day to treat the disease, none of which worked
o Since he started using medical marijuana, Jayden started walking and living a much more normal life

When he was just a baby, 6-year-old Jayden David was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome, which causes him to have violent seizures several times a day.

The seizures were so bad that they prevented the Modesto, California boy from walking, playing with friends and essentially living a normal life – he’s been rushed to the hospital by ambulance at least 40 times.

To combat the disease, Jayden was prescribed 12 different medications that he has to take every day. In all, the boy takes 22 pills a day.

Perhaps you could send this article (and the thousands of others on this subject) to President Obama.

He doesn't appear to be very interested in medical cannabis, or the millions that have been incarcerated for recreational cannabis use.

Maybe if he had been imprisoned for his cannabis and cocaine use he would have a different take on this subject.

Save lives, or starve them in every way imaginable from having a quality life in order to "protect" them?

The marijuana used to treat Jayden’s seizures contains a component called CBD (cannabidiol) that provides the same medical qualities as normal marijuana, but with less of a high.

In the doc he shows the story of a little girl that is using cannabidiol for her seizures - she has gone from 300 seizures a week down to one or two a week.

7. Not "with less of a high", with a different sort of high

Cannabidiol is more prevalent in C. indica strains, which aren't as common in North America; C. sativa has a higher proportion of THC and very little CBD. Sativa is more psychedelic/hallucinogenic; if you've known of anyone getting paranoid when smoking weed, it was sativa they were smoking.

9. I can remember when I smoked some pot that apparently had a huge dose of sativa in it.

It was the only time I had ever gotten paranoid on pot. I'd always gotten an upbeat, happy high from it except for that one occasion.

I had gotten into the shower that evening & I began focusing on the water going down the drain. I became very afraid that I was going to go down the drain with the water. Weird-o-rama.

I can only hope that the amounts the little boy is being given is based on his physician's knowledge about the properties & their effects.

... in Colorado the Stanley brothers are growing a special plant that has high Cannabidiol and almost no THC (under 1%)

They developed the plant over several years.

p.s. The whole documentary is pretty awesome

It's a disorder that is usually not progressive. I think MJ should be legalized, but all of these miracle stories aren't helping the cause. I keep hearing the same things about honey and cinnamon and peppermint. It's unconvincing overkill.

I'll stick with the opinion of my Epileptolgist and the very long history of how the disorder manifests.
