We should not confuse spying on suspected terrorists abroad with spying on Americans.

Who opposes listening in on "chatter" of possible terrorist suspects? I think most Americans believe this is what the NSA and the CIA are supposed to do? But we should not confuse this with capturing data and metadata of American citizens and putting it into their database.

Even if they discover something or capture someone with this latest terrorist alarm, it in no way excuses them from spying on American citizens.

However, I suspect this whole terrorist scare is more political than anything else? The Democratic Party can ill afford to have another Benghazi incident. It could be very damaging politically. If they can get the Republicans to agree to this latest strategy of closing so many embassies, then they will be able to share the blame or the credit if something does happen.

It is sad to think that the terrorist alarms have become nothing more than a political issue but that may be the case?
