Venice boardwalk crash: Man, 38, arrested on suspicion of murder

Venice Beach is the second biggest tourist attraction in S. California.
People from all over the world come here, especially in the summer.

My neighbors were there and spent most of last night talking to investigators.
This is horrible.
However, if this maniac had done this today, it may have been worse since today is the Hare Krishna Festival of the Chariots, which always draws a lot of people to Venice.

BTW, the woman killed was apparently on her honeymoon.
So sad.

She is italian the only victim of the accident of the promenade of Venice Beach, Los Angeles. She is 32-year-old Alice Gruppioni, daughter of Valerio Gruppioni, entrepreneur, and former president of Bologna Football. He oversaw the Sira Group, the family business in Norway. Monsignor Paolo Rubbi, a local priest who knew Gruppioni since she was a little girl and married the couple, told the website, "In these last few months, I have seen them often for marriage preparations: they were very serious but also very simple and above all, they truly wanted to get married."

He described Gruppioni as "strong" but also "sensitive" and "emotional." He added: "What has happened is a tragedy."

From what witnesses have said, he seemed determined to hit as many people as he could.
My neighbors, who were there and saw him start this rampage, said it was utter pandemonium there.
