Of course the Zimmerman "rescue" was a fake.

What's even more unbelievable is that more people didn't doubt it immediately in this 24-7 cycle of mostly obvious puffed-up and made-up news stories, not to mention that the source was a Zimmerman friend on the same Sanford Police Department that tried to help Zimmerman get away without even being arrested or tried for pursuing and murdering a child.

Before very many facts about this "rescue" were in, certain self-styled "skeptics" (who pretend they are the only true rationalists) rushed to uphold an official story and bait those who saw the obvious as "conspiracy theorists." Embarrassing.

http://kasamaproject.org/en/news-analysis/4465-no-that-creepy-ass-cracker-did-not-rescue-a-family

We have seen news reports of protesters doing thousands of dollars of damage to be wrong. The claims of separate attacks by protesters over the Zimmerman verdict turned out to be false. Now added to the list of false news reports appears to be the story of George Zimmerman heroically rescuing a family of four from a burning SUV.

The initial report was that George Zimmerman was ‘just coincidentally’ driving by after a car accident occurred, that he leaped out of his vehicle, fire extinguisher in hand, to come to the rescue of the family of four trapped inside as the vehicle caught fire, pulling them to safety. That was followed by the claim that the family he rescued had planned a press event to thank George Zimmerman, but that they canceled due to threats from Trayvon Martin supporters.

It appears they may have canceled the event because they did not want to be part of the fraud of making Zimmerman out to be a hero, when that story was not precisely true.

What did occur was that an accident occurred where a car slid on it’s side into a median. People at the scene called 911, which went to the Sanford office of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. BEFORE responding to the 911 call, News Ball.com reports that Seminole Sheriff’s Dept. Officer Patrick Rehder, a self-styled friend and supporter of Zimmerman, contacted Zimmerman by cell phone directing him to go to the accident so as to appear to be a hero. News Ball.com also provides a social media screen capture of a curious statement about Rehder taking pleasure when someone gets credit for something they did not do.

There's a 'no true Scotsman' fallacy in here somewhere, I'm sure on both sides.

For those that voiced doubt about Z's response, or the story en total, not only did I not criticize them, but I applaud their innate instincts.

But there were most certainly people who doubted the crash happened at all, and to them, I think some level of scorn is warranted, because come on. There were front page threads on how 'the whole story was unraveling' etc. And that is how the term 'crashers' came to be affixed to it.

So, mix of good and bad, on both sides. And there were people on 'my' side (I define as 'wait and see/truth will out' crowd) who got it wrong too, thinking he could well have been nearby and may have done something good. I voiced something similar as a possibility in a range of possibilities, even though I was careful to explicitly state that it wouldn't change anything even if he pulled a hundred babies from a burning orphanage.

The story leads back to newball, and newball is run, afaik, by Cole Bartiromo.

His name has been associated with scams.

https://encrypted.google.com/search?q=Cole+Bartiromo+scam

He's posted pic's of the kids who were in the accident. Going by the comments at his site and elsewhere, we're supposed to accept that they'll just have to take their chances because of their parents.

He has a bounty out for personal information of the jurors. I have to hope we could use other sources than him for this story.

Zimmerman happening to be a rescuer is a suspicious tale but there has to be better links.

Though it's buried in another thread it has been brought up.

have long since gotten to the point of understanding anything coming from zimmerman or his camp is not to be trusted. He's a proven liar.

That is why some doubted the accident even happened. Others thought it was staged. Still others thought it was some kind of conspiracy. Many wondered why, with everyone and their mother having a cel phone with a camera nowadays, there were no pictures of the incident.

I would say the instincts or all of those groups were on the right track, some were off somewhat, but like I said earlier, they knew anything coming from the zimmerman camp couldn't be trusted, so it turns out they were all right about that.

There was no "rescue." It was another lie.

24. The story is that there was a story.
Mon Jul 29, 2013, 09:49 PM
Jul 2013

The story is that a portion of the corporate media uncritically splashed a puffed-up story about Zimmerman's role in a rescue that he had absolutely nothing to do with. And then, when people had their well-founded automatic doubts, some of the corporate media (and a few DU official-type "skeptics&quot tried to bully people with the CT label and picked out the most ridiculous bullshit version (no crash at all) as a strawman.

As things stand, there's no doubt any more that Zimmerman did not in any way participate in a rescue of these people, and it's also near-certain that the claim the family would hold a press conference was completely fabricated. The story therefore is that either of these got uncritical coverage from a portion of Corporate McPravda. The story is about propaganda at work, and why it chose this particular cause of rehabilitating the acquitted murderer of a child.

If you take the time to read the entire "article" he states that he coerced a member of the family to look at some records and found that the police officer in question had made a call or a text, he isn't sure, to someone named George around the time of the accident.

So...

1) No proof. No photos. No data.
2) Unnamed "family member" provided the information... How convenient
3) Not sure if it was a call or text even though there should be no doubt if he had access
4) A call to a "George" around the time of the traffic accident does not mean that it is George Zimmerman or that he told him to scream on over to pull someone out

Someone could write a thesis paper on this car accident alone. People seem to feel that if anything positive comes out about Zimmerman it is a direct challenge.

Their "allegedly scheduled news conference was cancelled, what's up with that? Was that another made up story from the zimmerman camp, after all it was to be at zimmerman's lawyer's office?

There have been no photos released even of "zimmer-man" at the scene in action when everyone has a cell phone camera nowadays.

1) What does that have to do with this? That is the part that boggles my mind about this. People think that the two are connected and if it turns out he took a guy out of a car accident then that means something to do with the Martin case.

2) At least in the Zimmerman case, there was some evidence that supported his story. You can choose to ignore it or interpret differently but at least it was there. There is literally zero, note the use of the word literally, evidence to indicate anything other than a simple traffic accident.

The standard isn't "Come up with a batshit crazy idea and prove to me why it didn't happen that way"

You start with the explanation as put forth by multiple people who were there. If you have proof that something is different then you bring it out and change the story. That hasn't happened yet...

I defend logic and the law and get my jollies from making people think things through... That's what I'll admit.

Cheers...

You folks got to stick together, right? Wouldn't want anyone infringing on YOUR right to shoot dark people who scare you. Hundreds of issues to discuss and you pretty much exclusively focus on defending a racist murderer. You might also want to consider that the vast majority of folks here are a good deal more intelligent than you and don't fall for your bullshit even a tiny bit.

... is that you really think that.

Anyone who acts within the law or defends due process or asks for facts and proof instead of emotion and angst is labeled a racist who wants to shoot "dark people."

That must be it...

How awful are we for demanding justice for someone who was just acting within the law? He was so deathly afraid of that 17 year old with a can of juice. I can understand why you'd be similarly terrified! Must suck walking down the street not knowing when any young minority might end your life at a moment's notice. And then there are people who go about their lives occasionally using a lick of common sense. Someday you might get there.

that Zimmerman is a really cool ok guy -- who just likes to hunt down and kill innocent people he views as "suspects".

Can I book you at my next grandchild's birthday party? Fortunately it won't be my grandson's.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a post where I say that he is a "really cool ok guy."

that other bystanders stood around while the cop called Zimmerman to come to the scene of the accident, that no one else would attempt to help the victims of the accident in a timely manner (like right after the accident happened) and that the road would be clear for Zimmerman to speed to the scene of the accident as opposed to blocked by cars rubber necking the accident, anybody who has ever driven by an accident knows that traffic stops and then slows to a crawl until police arrive and start moving traffic.Stop and think about how much time would have to pass as the cop called Z and Z got in his car and drove to the accident. I am definitely not a Zimmerman apologist,he got away with murder, but this conspiracy theory makes no sense.

The news reports said that the vehicle turned over, and that Zimmerman and another guy helped the family out of the car, and then left after the officials arrived. (None of the news reports I saw said anything about a burning vehicle).

The simpler story is more likely to be the truer story.

I haven't presented a strawman argument at all.

I'm simply saying that the original story is more likely (Zimmerman and another guy help a family that wasn't in any real danger get out of their rolled over car) than:

1. Car turns over at rush hour.
2. Somebody calls 911
3. Deputy calls Zimmerman
4. Family doesn't get out of the car on their own.
5. Nobody else helps family get out of car before Zimmerman gets there.
6. Zimmerman gets there before the cops.

Pigwanker has zero upper body strength. He has no ability to pull any thing out. He couldn't pull a Kleenex out of a tissue box. When we see him with both arms in casts , in a news photo, I'll believe he tried to pull an adult out of a car.

We are talking weakling wanker here, remember? Mixed marshal arts, my ass. He couldn't jump rope or play jacks with out needing stitches.

One impression Zippy left however is that Travon was a super fighter able to kick some major butt. I find comfort in picturing a Ninja octopus throwing that scared shaking, sniveling, frightened little crybaby all over that wet grass, having full advantage and winning with his unblemished hands. So strong, so young, so wise. And now the super fighter of the century. You are my hero.

To me that testimony just proved Zman is a bully, who carried a gun in case his 3 day a week training didn't work for him.

What does it take to convict an obvious bullying, gun toting, bigot who shoots an unarmed kid?
