Wondering where to move to on a rainy day

I'm in a strange mood today. Maybe because I just read that Nate Silver predicts that Republicans will probably gain the Senate and certainly retain the House in 2016.

Things are just getting too weird here in the good ol' US of A and I'm about to give up. The only question is where does one go to get away from the mass insanity that is taking hold of this once great country.

Think about it;
* Murder has been legalized in Florida and 30 other states as long as there are no witnesses and you can sell a crock of b.s. (rule #1: the guy with the gun is in the right)

* Our congress is wiling to crash the world economy to prevent US citizens from having access to more equitable health care, let alone institute national health care like every other civilized country on the planet. More importantly this will deny our elected President any success.

* The ONLY legislation congress will pass must include tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans regardless of where they keep their money.

* The weather speaks for itself, but half the country will believe whatever Fox New tells them about the climate. What are you going to believe?.. Us of your own lying eyes?

* Working class people insist on voting against their own interests for God knows what bullshit reasons. I guess so they can't be forced to have abortions and they get to have as many guns as they want.

* The Senate has used the filibuster more in the past 5 years than in the rest of the history of the country combined and serves only to obstruct anything from being done.

* The American people love this so much, they are about to turn the Senate Republican again so ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that benefits them can ever be accomplished. (I thought we were the home of the brave, not the suicidal)

* Every state with a Republican Governor and Legislature is eliminating workers, women's, and citizens rights in leaps and bounds and they keep winning elections.

* I don't doubt that over half the country would throw out the other 9 amendments to preserve the holy #2

* The congress and Senate are totally bought and in the pockets of the most powerful lobbyists with the most money. Period.

This list could go on and on and you know it. I would like to hear about anything trending positively in this country other than the acceptance of gays, but that is pretty much old news everywhere else in the world. Remind me again why this is the greatest country in the world. I seem to have forgotten.

This sure isn't the America I grew up in and I think it's time to shop around for someplace else just for the sake of sanity and freedom.

P.S. Canada is just too damn cold most of the year

Gulf islands are warm. Sunny right now. Hasn't rained for 33 days. We get a few days of snow in the winter if we are lucky.
