Russian Authorities, Unsurprised by Anything Revealed by Snowden

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reports that “Snowden exposed what we knew a long time ago,” Itar-Tass reports.

This means that the US politicians are simply exaggerating in their claims that rival countries (since Russia has long since been viewed as one, despite diplomatic relations) have now found out their spying techniques, which means the national security is at risk.

As I’ve previously stated, if there was an entity big enough to be deemed as a United States rival, surely they already had an inkling about what their intelligence agency could do and the only ones only just now finding out about them are regular citizens.

“It’s extremely important to bear in mind while rearming our enterprises that these machines may be provided with software with some spy devices implanted, and these spy devices can function in some specific way or transmit the information,” Rogozin said, talking about the measures the country is taking to safeguard against foreign electronic components.
