Anyone else looking forward to Labor Day 2014?

Everyone here on DU needs to work together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. If you are bashing, trashing, undermining, or depressing turnout for our candidates during election season, we'll assume you are rooting for the other side.

I'm still tired, and not ready to go back to work/school. I like to be fresh and positive about the year when my students walk through the door.

It's getting harder and harder to get there.

Labor Day 2014? I've got to survive another year before I even think about it; I've been in survival mode for years now.

Are you looking forward to Labor Day 2014 just because dissenters who don't drink neoliberal and rw koolaid won't be expressing dissent for a couple of months?

That's pathetic. If you don't want to hear the dissent, pressure the elected Democrats and the Democratic candidates to purge neoliberalism from the party. That's the way to gain the support of dissenters.

What's better? To silence them, or get them on board?

The owners of this site put the terms "Liberal" and "Center-left" in the TOS etc. I believe , deliberately and for good reason. Any "purge" of either side of the spectrum would see this site fail , and , if extrapolated to he Democratic Party....decades in the wilderness.

I'm just looking for some respite from the Anti-Dem meme.

There are three Democrats in my Assembly district in NJ who have actively fought against gay rights. Working to re-elect them would be campaigning against my own rights.

I won't advocate for their defeat here, but don't expect me to back or work for them.
