(20,600 posts)Weiner comes out like roses in this exchange, IMHO.

(12,325 posts)I find her question important. A teacher would have been fired if they had conducted themselves they way Mr. Weiner has.

(20,600 posts)Not impressed by this rude, and obnoxious woman trying to bully this polite respectful gentlemen. That is the way the video seems to me.
Ruby the Liberal
(26,219 posts)and allowing employees under him being FIRED for the same actions he wants people/voters to just ignore?
This ain't Medea Benjamin trying to incite a riot - this is a voter from the neighborhood asking a pretty straightforward question.

(20,600 posts)"trying to incite a riot"
Whatever. Medea has more grace and dignity in her little finger than this big bullying woman does in her whole big and wide body.

(24,096 posts)she is the one with a bit of dignity, he not so much.
and it is fucking true. If she was a teacher or any public employee, her job would be dust in 2 minutes flat if she did what he did.
He was a big jerkoff, like he usually is, literally and figuratively.

He's a pompous, entitled ass.

(34,460 posts)That he's trying now to get a similar (to Cong.) position, and if his behavior was disqualifying enough to serve the public as a teacher, she wants an explanation for why a repetition of the behavior, while lying about it, does not also disqualify him as a candidate for mayor?
It's a good question.
There may be a good answer to that question, but he didn't provide one.

(22,143 posts)Not everyone would lose their job for doing what he did. No one would bat an eye in my line of work. And really, he doesn't have the job yet to lose. He's asking for a job despite his image problem.
She just seemed to be grandstanding for the cameras.

(1,401 posts)Here is where her question makes no sense. He did resign from his job for what he did. His more recent behavior was not during the time he was a public official. He is now asking for a job back. The people of New York can choose whether to hire him or not
She would have been fired but she is free to apply for a job, even the job of her choice. The entity she applies to can choose whether to hire her or not.
Stupid premise.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)This was her choice as to his hiring.

(34,460 posts)Interviewer who is asking a job-related question. Voters have the right to an answer, so they can better assess the candidates.
She grew more unhappy as he refused to provide an answer. Most interviewers in private industry would count that very heavily against him.

(46,585 posts)Weiner was confronted by the voter right after telling reporters he would likely soon stop answering questions about his previous online relationships.
Identifying herself as a Democrat and retired New York City Department of Education employee, Peg Brunda told Weiner she spent 21 years as a teacher and then nine as an assistant principal. As a city employee, "had I conducted myself in the manner in which you conducted yours, my job would have been gone," Brunda said.
Brunda continued, "I don't quite understand how you would feel you have the moral authority as the head administrator in the city to oversee employees when your standard of conduct is so much lower than the standard of conduct that's expected of us."
