You think that the RW'ers would have permitted such a socialistic program to be implemented nationally. Really? "FAIL"

Damn, this conversation is just stupid...as is the premis that Obamacare is a negative issue on it's balance.

Obamacare has been overwhelmingly opposed by Republicans because Obama proposed it, as opposed to the Heritage Foundation that designed it (whole buncha socialists over there, you betcha).

But you are right: this conversation is stupid. Romney wasn't elected and trying to make Obama look better by comparing his actions to a non-event is pointless. Ciao.

Romeny couldn't never have implemented it. And as it tirnes out even a broken clock is correct twice a day, and the plan was able to be implemented and saved lives and is bettering the health of millions of people. Something Romeny wouldn' never have been permitted to implement in any shape or form.

You honeslty think Romeny could have done this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023349331

which is essentially the same thing. Previously he claimed that Massachusetts could demonstrate that his conservative plan would work for the nation--the ol' laboratories of democracy doncha know. But since the trogodytes worked so hard to link Obama to the same program rMoney's political needs got in the way and he did his standard weathervane thing.

Would have thought that was obvious to anybody.

U.S. Senator from Massachusetts Edward M. Kennedy, who had made universal heath coverage his life's work, gave Romney's plan a positive reception, which encouraged Democratic legislators to work with it.

The legislature amended Romney's plan, adding a Medicaid expansion for children and imposing an assessment on firms with 11 or more workers who do not offer health coverage. The assessment is intended to equalize the contributions to the free care pool from employers that offer and do not offer coverage. The General Court also rejected Romney's provision allowing high-deductible health plans.

Romney vetoed eight sections of the health care legislation, including a $295-per-person fee on businesses with 11 employees or more that do not provide health insurance. Romney also vetoed provisions providing dental and eyeglass benefits to poor residents on the Medicaid program, and providing health coverage to senior and disabled legal immigrants not eligible for federal Medicaid. However, the state legislature overrode all of the vetoes.

The Democrats in the Massachusetts legislature made many improvements in romney's healthcare proposal. He vetoed all of them. They overrode all of his vetoes. With an 85% majority they could pretty much pass or reject whatever they wanted. So this was more a Democratic law than a republican one.

Don't forget him, because it was his financial roadplan to austerity that Mitt endorsed!!!

Ryan said just yesterday that his financial roadplan to austerity would have improved the economy much more by now, much faster than what has been happening.

I'm not kidding one little bit.

ALL of Bush tax cuts for wealthy would be made permanent.

XL Pipeline would already be approved.

We'd be at war with Iran by the end of 2013.

Much deeper cuts to every government agency but the Pentagon.

Sandy relief would have been slashed.

And we're only in July.

And they used him very well. The Repubs were happy to keep the train rolling under the blue flag until 2016 when it would be safe to run a another Bush.

Romney was apparently the last person to find out that he was the butt of the joke.

Sure it was empty, but that Reaganesque image is the first step to a Republican White House. They get the rest of their instructions in a newsletter from the RNC after (if) they win an election.
