No. He benefited from his time, and from the earlier stages of the looting of America. But the seeds he planed, and others that he nurtured along, will likely end up destroying America as we know it.

Look how happy that damn bunch of crooks were:

Bill Clinton & Co. repealing Glass-Steagall in 1999, with the passage of the Graham-Leach-Bliley act known as the Financial Services Modernization Act.

Nobody's perfect, and Clinton had his share of flaws-- political expediency on gay rights being one of the biggest, followed by allowing personal scandal to hurt his political agenda.

But the average American was probably never better off than in the 1990s. Low unemployment, low inflation, balanced budget, rising median income, peace and respect abroad. We had it so good we thought it would be okay to have a lunkhead like George W. Bush as president.

The 90's

Prosperity and hope were reality. He was pressured by the right late in his presidency but he did this nation proud. The 13 years since have been an unmitigated clusterfuck.
