During the press conference, his lawyer explained that the "papers" he brought for Snowden, the ones press got all excited about, so excited that they made up stories, were a copy of Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment". And that he took Snowden's fingerprints for the transit documents Snowden should be getting soon. The documents are not ready. Snowden does not have documents.

That "anonymous interfax source" punks the press again.

RT and NPR at least updated their story. The Spanish MSM got it right from the start- NO Papers. The rest of the press? Downright embarrassing. Despite requests to update from journalists who were there, they're still running with the first story from Interfax's "anonymous source", even though Interfax updated their story (Border Service does not receive Snowden documents, he stays in transit zone – source).

As we expected, this isn't a straight-forward story. Corey now tells us that a lawyer who's been working with Snowden says the former NSA contractor won't be leaving the airport on Wednesday. There's still some paper work to do, apparently.

What an interesting choice. No, not "Fathers and Sons" or "Notes from the Underground" or Anna Karenina or even "The Golovlev Family" (not all Dostoevsky, to be sure).

Or even "The Idiot".

Is he hinting that the Raskol'nikov might be a bit, um, odd, in pursuing his own particular brand of politic factionalism (raskol)?

Or perhaps that Snowden stepped over the line (perestupil) in his transgression (prestuplenie)?

Too, too punny.

But I could see Snowden cast as Raskol'nikov.
