Plus, all the freeps "know!" that Ms. A is HRC's secret lovah!!!! lol. How? Why? Because work! If women work together or report to each other it's all lesbiany, duh.
Chan790
(20,176 posts)As others have pointed out, Huma Abedin is basically HRC's right-hand everywhere Clinton has ever served from Senator for NY to State to HRC's campaigns for office. There's a fairly good chance if Clinton is elected President in 2016 that Abedin will be White House Chief of Staff unless there is another position she strongly-prefers over running the West Wing.
While some have argued that this is a political marriage, she's arguably always been the more powerful (if lower-profile) member of the marriage. US Reps. aren't really all that powerful compared to higher-level federal civil servants and appointees.

(11,304 posts)Yes married to powerful people. She is pretty but remember she had her own power working for the Clintons.

(8,646 posts)or maybe one of her parents was narcissistic and that level of narcissism is what feels comfortable to her. The subtle cues are invisible to her, because they were 'normal' in her upbringing and one of the hallmarks of a narcissistic family is that they stick together no matter what. Maybe she feels she has to do that for their kid.
Who the hell knows. We all project our own experiences on to others (like I just did). BTW, many children of narcissists are 'fixers' so maybe we are both right.
DevonRex
(22,541 posts)Having a parent with a personality disorder would probably force the kids to feel like they have to fix a lot of things, PDs being pretty manipulative and all.
FSogol

(22,541 posts)It's similar to co-dependency. So there's an unconscious enabling factor involved. Hopefully their therapy has addressed both issues because she can't fix him. After all she's been through, she will have to concentrate on keeping herself strong and stable. And she will have to guard her son's mental health like a hawk.

Weiner has managed to hang onto his wife, so he's not the worst of them. He is, however, addicted to the chase.
Either he will get some help for this or he'll be shunted out of politics. It's really too bad, so many of our greatest leaders have been horndogs who chased other women outside their marriages.
loli phabay
(5,580 posts)I dont know the ins and outs but obviously he needs more or something that he does not get in the marriage, question is if she okays it then its no problem if not then they need to go swperate ways.
Warpy
(111,383 posts)but it's totally the man's problem in most of these cases, a sexual loose screw that programs them to keep chasing women even though what they have at home would more than satisfy normal men.
loli phabay
(5,580 posts)Sometimes its the wife sometimes the husband, unless she definitively comes out and kicks him to the curb then we dont know if shes okay with it.

(55,445 posts)I have heard of some men who even though they were happily married, had some very "out there" sexual tastes that the wives (through no fault of their own) were completely unwilling or unable to fulfill...

This also seems to imply that many women do not enjoy participating in, or hell initiating, fantasy and role-playing in their sexual relationships. Rather Victorian.

(5,611 posts)with whom they are not compatible sexually. Everyone has their fetishes -- some more "extreme" perhaps than others. Obviously I am talking about "safe, sane, legal" per the bdsm community standards -- not anything that would involve criminal behavior and/or abuse. An adult -- especially in this day and age -- should be honest with a potential spouse ffs about sexual preferences. He has a severe impulsivity problem. Not so much a matter of sexual preferences.

Warpy
(111,383 posts)Everybody else seemed to think she was more horsey, which fits because the Windsors are diehard members of the horsey set in the UK. The joke was that Charles had fallen for the closest thing to his horse he could find.
Diana's tragedy was that she expected a normal marriage and royal marriages are usually anything but normal. After Harry was born, they could have gone their separate ways discreetly. However, by that time they were likely ready to kill each other. Publicly.
However, JFK was more illustrative of my point, that a lot of great leaders have been horndogs addicted to the chase.
I wish the infotainment press would get it's collective head out of government's crotch and focus on actual news.

(11,709 posts)There are many different ideas of what makes a successful relationship and I don't think I've heard Weiner's wife object to his actions - only the public at large.
Perhaps they're monogamish.
