Kids Raise Money for Hippotherapy with Book Sales
HURON, Tenn.-The Reinbow Riding Academy which provides hippotherapy or horse riding therapy for children received a boost thanks to a local author.
A $250 check was presented at the stables of the Reinbow Riding Academy in Huron, Tuesday afternoon.
Some of the young people who played characters of "The Jerusalem Donkey Legend" in a video version of the book participated in the presentation.
Hippotherapy has proven successful in treating conditions like cerebral palsy, autism and traumatic brain injury.
"A lot of people think of therapy as painful and in a dark room with lab coats and this is just a fun way for kids to get their therapy but in a setting that's not the norm," said Sophie Hayes, a physical therapist
with Reinbow Riding Academy.
