They work with the food they have, much of which is headed for the fucking garbage otherwise.

There is constant effort to have balanced and healthy meals. Some grants are specifically nutrition-related in order to encourage and fund these efforts.. What the fuck does he want.

This fucking billionaire piece of shit can go fuck himself. Greedy disgusting capitalist pig who would rather let people starve and throw out the fucking food. Throwing out people and resources. Sick. Parasitic.

balanced, heart healthy diet. My dad used to say he was so hungry he could eat the ass-hole out of a skunk. I now see that if he were homeless in Bloomberg's NYC that might have been one of his only options.

People who are hungry and unable to afford to buy food are grateful for any food. And even the people who can afford, barely, to buy food are not able to afford all the healthiest foods. They have to buy the foods that stave off hunger and fill you up.

I have seen people digging through dumpsters for edible items. I know that these people are not worried about the salt content, fat, or fiber. Apparently, Mayor Bloomberg doesn't understand the reality.

And I especially liked this: "But Mayor Bloomberg, a salt-aholic himself, was unapologetic." Do as I say, damn it, not what I do.

wtf else is he so obsessed with controlling dietary habits?

Or he's senile. Regardless, foodobsessed.

I never got so many "I like your shirt" comments as when I wore it around Manhattan.

which of course doesn't make it less bad, if it stayed in force.

There's a nonprofit organization here in NYC called City Harvest (http://www.cityharvest.org/) which collects food from numerous sources, from simple donations to the excess food prepared by restaurants, catering places etc. and brings it to places feeding the homeless/poor. FWIW, they're still going strong, which would seem to indicate that the 'ban' in the article was reversed.

May his punishment in Hell be standing just out of reach of a meal. For all eternity.

Yes folks, if there is a Hell, this man has a first class ticket to ride.
