There should be a new kind of criminal charge. napoleon_in_rags Jul 2013 #1
I think that's adequately covered by "criminally negligent homicide". kestrel91316 Jul 2013 #2
Than why wasn't Zimmerman charged with it? napoleon_in_rags Jul 2013 #5
Beats me. Ask the incompetent (or monkeywrenching) prosecutors. They didn't want kestrel91316 Jul 2013 #6

Just called "creating a dangerous situation which leads to death". It should have been what they charged Zimmerman with, and it should be what they charge this gun owner with. Basically it apply to anyone who creates a situation which substantially raises the probability of someone dying, and someone dies. That law would get people thinking. Just owning a gun, a car, anything, puts one at risk to commit this crime, so people need to start accepting a level of responsibility for what dangerous things they choose to own, and take the safety precautions to prevent committing this crime.

To me, that was a clear situation. Don't get out of the car. Don't approach the person you called the cops on because he thought he was dangerous, with a gun tucked away.
