(21,132 posts)but because there are no forms of natural or artificial light that these creates have known over generations of evolution, it is unlikely they have eyes.
I would think they would have sensory organs--they'd have to. I suspect the protrusions may be some sort of sensor, but not photons. Probably these are side effects of a shallower ancestor that had eyes. As this creater move deeper, the eyes quit being a survival bonus so natural selection quit refining it.
Again, this is just a hypothesis.
