Harry Reid Folds Again

Pulling back from the brink of the nuclear option, once again, Harry Reid is settling for a GOP "promise" to let 7 Obama nominees proceed. Hey "Give em Heck Harry": what about all the other Obama nominees the GOP is blocking, not to mention all the obstructionism of legislation?

Mark my words, if the Republicans ever take back the Senate, the first thing they will do is blow up the Filibuster rule stating with a straight face, "The Americans people deserve an up or down vote on all matters". Most Americans are so stupid they will agree, completely forgetting the 8 years of the Republicans blocking every single action that the president and the Democrats tried to accomplish. Cynical, but true!

Republicans have used the word fillibuster time and time again to obstruct any forward movement by the Senate. All those nominees are going to get is the chance for a vote, and trading off 7 appointments does not solve the root problem.

I still say, keep the filibuster, just don't allow the threat of one to change anything. If they want to filibuster, talk is damn cheap, actually stand up and do it. Especially since all they have to do is threaten to do so, anonymously.

The Senate Democratic Caucus selected a conservative Senator from a conservative state
with a reputation as a passionless, milquetoast, moderate with little inclination to Make ANY Waves AT ALL as their LEADER and Spokesman.

They have re-selected Reid as their Leader & Spokesman every session since then.

Have you ever wondered WHY?
