for 2nd degree murder, that would require him to shoot and kill someone. He would however have faced illegal gun charges because he was a minor and could not legally carry a gun.

It wouldn't matter if it was self defense or if Zimmerman had pulled his gun first or not. In many places, defending oneself while black is a crime in itself. As another poster said, he would probably be dead in an "accidental" police shooting.

have been the victim of an 'accidental' police shooting. I don't know if he would have shot Zimmerman. I don't know if Zimmerman would have shot him. I do know that had Martin lived, under any circumstance and had been armed with a gun, he would be doing prison time. Of course, that would be preferable to death.

He would have been charged with weapon violations as a 17 year old cannot have a handgun.
