Basically Zimmerman didn't end up going to prison because jurors couldn't figure out manslaughter

... and because they didn't ask the judge for more clarification.

If the three jurors that did not want to vote 'not guilty' (one for 2nd degree, two for manslaughter) had stuck to their original opinion there would have been a hung jury and a new trial!

Btw, the Judge instructed the jurors to disregard the comment Serino said about believing that Zimmerman was telling the truth.
But listen to what the juror says at 3:25 minute mark
she did NOT do what the Judge said to do !

The one who started out at 2nd degree murder and the two manslaughter votes . . . I would like to know if they knew the could have resulted in a hung jury. .

At least give it a day or two, before caving on someone who deserved more.

If they elected a forman/lady, it must have been an honest to god cracker.

I feel certain something like that happened here.

The thing is, you're stuck in that room with those people verbally pounding on you, and you can't just go away and get your thoughts together. Well maybe there's a way to do it but it was my one and only time (so far) actually doing a case as a juror and I didn't know what to do. I still don't, but if there's a next time I'm more prepared to find out.

Anyway, I can picture how the ones who were leaning toward "guilty" were beat on by the others, particularly this one who's already got a book deal and going on CNN.

Two jurors were trying to find anything they could convict him of, but the self defense instructions were not surmountable.

At minimum manslaughter, but probably 1st or 2nd. That's my best guess so far.
