Who has a working knowledge of police records?

How many different kinds of records can be generated from a police visit to a residence?

I assume there is a dispatch record, and then a police report.

And do all dispatches end up with a police report?

... responding officers will tell dispatch what if any action was taken, ie advised about a loud stereo or barking dog complaint for example
