That's probably because I spend a lot more time in the real world than I do in the DU bubble.

The level of paranoia here is, most unfortunately, contagious among the weak-minded and easily-manipulated.

The sky falls at least a dozen times a day, and everything that happens anywhere is chilling, frightening, unprecedented, and, needless to say, yet another sign of fascism, the inevitable 'surveillance state', and the 1% taking over the universe.

I think DU will make a great movie someday soon - kind of an updated version of the Twilight Zone's classic, "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street".

Some things you just have to write off for your own sanity if they don't personally affect you.

Some things aren't as bad as those seeking ratings and web traffic make them out to be.

My life is short, so I focus on what I can change short-term. After I'm gone, fuck it.

there are no "woods" where you can escape these problems. They will find you. But people who think they can just simply avoid politics have to learn that the hard way...

Maybe if you can leave the country, you might be able to get away from the horrific greed and corruption of America, but if you stay in the country, you are always vulnerable to the problems here because they are systemic.

You can get a house and farm land north of Orlando for very lil money, and not have or see a neighbour for miles.
