I can't help but wonder how things would have been different if Trayvon had been merely wounded

And had been able to tell his side of the story.

Yes, it's a pointless and futile waste of valuable brain, but it did cross my mind many times over the past week.

... then we would have 'heard' much more of what actually happened and what was said.

And perhaps if Zimmerman had known he was being recorded he would not have approached Trayvon and Trayvon would still be alive.

has it's facts..any change in the truth of the case would or could completely change the outcome. If someone would have been walking their dog and seen it, it could have changed it, if it were a different dispatcher it could have changed it, if they had a witness who stated Z liked to tell derogatory jokes, it could have changed it, any change could have changed it..criminal cases usually hinge on one or two key facts..

And how would prejudice and racism have filtered in. With Trayvon able to testify - that could have satisfied the burden of proof on the self defense defeat. Unless the jurors didn't take the word of a young black man - that consideration would be there, too. Forensic evidence might have been better.
