... That Snowden has created some sort of "dead man's switch" -- whereby documents get released in the event that he is killed by the US government -- was previously reported weeks ago ... <H>e has all sorts of documents that could inflict serious harm to the US government's programs. That demonstrates how irrational is the claim that his intent is to harm the US ... Snowden has enough information to cause more damage to the US government in a minute alone than anyone else has ever had in the history of the United States ...

"Through those channels and through the normal procedures, we believe Mr. Snowden ought to be expelled from Russia ... ... because it is Snowden’s personal judgment that all spying is wrong, he also believes it appropriate that he reveal our covert activities to affected foreign governments ... I don’t recall there being an election where I voted to assign my proxy to Edward Snowden so that this 29 year-old guy — who I never heard of before two weeks ago — could determine, on my behalf, what this country should or should not be doing when it comes to its covert, overseas spying program. So, how is it that Mr. Snowden has decided that it is appropriate to appoint himself the arbiter of judgment and morality when it comes to such issues? ...

Svetlana Chibisova, a 45-year-old tour agency manager, found it strange that an American carrying U.S. secrets would travel by way of Russia, where security agencies are very much in control. “I don’t understand what he was thinking. We stand opposed to any attempt to treat Edward Snowden as a traitor. Our government must also not pursue the case against him outside the ordinary course of American justice. He is entitled to the rule of law and constitutional protections that so many before us died to defend. Snowden is innocent until proven guilty before a court of law and he must be afforded all of his rights as an American citizen. If he is brought to an American court, he must be afforded every opportunity to defend himself and convince a judge that what he did was justifiable and patriotic, even if he is charged with violating laws that themselves pose a threat to our democracy ...

A poll, to be useful, needs the choices to be mutually exclusive and exhaustive. These are neither and on top of that they are cumbersome and unclear.

Try again.
