George Zimmerman is a 'law abiding gun owner'

Legally declared so by the state of Florida.

Which just shows that 'law abiding gun owners' are a menace to public safety just as much as officially criminal ones.

To our friends on the Gungeon: may you be surrounded by law abiding gun owners such as Zimmerman. Leave your skittles at home.

mechanism. Ain't that nice and law-abiding. They also are against it in case they sell a gun in the back alley, or elsewhere without a background check, and the gun is used in a crime down the road. They want no responsibility.

My favorite was still the thread about making sure to turn off your cell phone after calling police when they shoot someone, so that no one hears something that raises suspicion.

I'm sorry, most gun owners may follow the law (of course, they study it to know when they can blast away just like Zimmerman), but they aren't morality-abiding when the tuck one or two in their pants before walking among the public, or acquiring assault style weapons for use in some coming domestic war.

I'm sick of the gun nuts, who are usually bigots just like Zimmerman.

Jul 2013

What few posts that mention filing off microstamping seem to be done -solely- to troll you, and it looks like you bit the hook rather hard on most of them. Likewise, most posts that insist on illegal action against gun-control legislation seem to be trolling, and given the history of some of those PPRed regulars, it's not exactly unexpected. I can't say that any of the more reasonable (read; non-Troll) RKBA crew would inherently be opposed to most of what you've brought up here.

See, this is what I don't get, Hoyt. I read back through the archives, and at one point, you seemed to be a gun controller I agreed with on most issues. Then, for some reason, over a month, your arguments devolved until they hit the level of "Just for shits" dickery, and that's what has always puzzled me about you. You're definitely smart, you do have (at the very least) average debate skills, and yet you got yourself banned out of the Gungeon... For what? Fun? You're obviously capable of having an intelligent discussion, I guess I just don't understand why you went the route you did.

Also, a brief statement on morality: It's subjective. That's the problem with "Moral" arguments. What you see as moral, others see as immoral, and visa versa.

Either way, that's neither here nor there. I promise you, most of us genuine left-wing gun-owners are just as sick of the lunatic-fringe of the gun control issue as well. The only really pressing issue between our two groups, as I told BainsBane, is the fringe extremists on either side. As it stands, we're trying to bring reasonable and progressive debate to the gun violence issue, but we're fighting the whackos on the right and the loonies on the left, and we're finding the necessity to defend ourselves against both fronts. I -agree- with you on the "If it saves 10%" bit, but I honestly don't think it will. Filing and powder tracking can only be done after a murder, and while I cannot speak for you, I prefer to preempt the crime at it's source rather than treating a tool of said crime.

That the prosecution could not prove his guilt doesn't mean the killing was justified. He stalked and killed a young boy. He will continue to kill. And I have no doubt he has already spawned gun nuts to go hunting for their very own black male.

Curl up in a ball? That is a completely delusional comment. The only reason Z found trouble that night is he went looking for it. He killed for no reason. Trayvon was walking home from the store. That is not a justified use of a weapon.
I'm not going to wind up in a jam like that because I'm not a paranoid lunatic. Normal people don't act like vigilantes. That is what killers do. Zimmerman got away with murder. That doesn't mean he is any less a killer or that the killing was justified. It clearly was not. Murder is evil. I hope he and every last gun nut killer like him rots in hell.
