This is not a race problem, it's a class problem.

Nothing was worth George Zimmerman killing a 17 year old black kid over, not even if he was intending on breaking into someone's home.

That is, unless you think killing black people is something of a worthwhile undertaking.

Maybe THAT is the conversation we ought to be having, rather that whether George Zimmerman got away with murder?

And I've had a black teenager break into my home. The first thing he went for was the goodies in the fridge. He claimed he was homeless to the police, when in fact he was a runaway. Tried to be the tough guy for 48 hours until they figured out he really had a family. He's still violating his parole as he is simply out of control being raised by a single parent.

Yes, class may be a factor, but race trumps class. This was a middle class neighborhood that Trayvon was walking in. He had every right to be in that neighborhood. But, his skin color trumped class at least in this case.

We need to stop trying to dismiss the importance and prominence of race in this country.

until capitalism is smashed. When the rulers no longer control the means of production, then bias against race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. will become a personal problem, not a problem based on systemic oppression.

Trayvon was raised by college-educated, middle class parents.

George Zimmerman is a loser. Had a couple of different low-paying jobs. If anything Trayvo was of a higher class than Z.

In other species they are run out of the herd to survive on their own.

We used to give them jobs to keep them busy, but not any more.

Don't care how racist Zimmerman or society is, if he doesn't have a gun, Trayvon is alive.

Trayvon is dead because this society accepts openly carrying instruments of murder.
