The True Winners of the Zimmerman Verdict and the Texas Anti-Women's Health Bill: The 1%

This is how they win. They fund regressive legislation like Stand Your Ground and the anti-women's health bill. They defund public education. They promote racial division and anger to the point where you can kill an innocent African American man just because you're scared.

The end result is that enough people vote for regressive policies so that real progress can never be made.

1. SYG had nothing to do with the Zimmerman trial...

Self-defense did (which is a 40+ year old law in the State of FL, passed by a Democratic governor). This trial did NOT set precedent. It was a media circus that got blow WAY out of proportion. It was tried, and a jury of peers acquitted Zimmerman. The justice system we have in place works. The court of public opinion (AKA Mob Mentality) does not.

I don't understand what you're getting at. I was just pointing out that SYG was NOT invoked in this trial (which has been inaccurately thrown around), and that mob mentality doesn't work. Are facts no longer acceptable? As for lost? No. I've been a LONG time lurker (around 2004 or so, Andy was still a regular at that time) on this site, and usually enjoy the commentary (plus, it's a great place to get all my political news in one spot).
I will point out that I am NOT a Zimmerman supporter, if that's what you're implying.
