General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMrs. Intern was so upset last night that she
ate 1/3 of a big bag of potato chips. She hasn't done this since George W. was "re-elected" (sic and sick) when they shut down the vote count in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Now you must understand that Mrs. Intern almost never ever eats junk food. We had this bag in the house because we had had a 4th of July partay here. Stale and soggy from the relentless humidity, she ate them nonetheless, watching in stunned disbelief.
I rest my case. The deliberately inept prosection certainly did.

(3,677 posts)I live here. Stop saying Florida like we all are responsible for this fiasco. Most of us, like me, are sick over it.

(3,677 posts)Remember, during the last two presidential elections this state overcame insurmountable obstacles to turn blue.
We are not all at fault here.

(3,677 posts)My state comes under fire for it's legal system all the time. Casey Anthony. George Zimmerman. Purging voter registrations. Stolen elections.
My hope is that this "acquittal" will energize the voters even more than the Obama election did. Maybe people who were apathetic before will turn out in even larger numbers than in 2012.
Yes there are serious problems with our legal system. But don't forget the hundreds of thousands who stood in line for 8 to 12 hours to vote in 2012.
We are waking up.
I hope that this decision woke a sleeping giant and the state turns permanently blue.
I want to stay positive, and I really need to stay positive or I will lose my mind.

(72,300 posts)We almost bought a home there but Mr In The Wind let his family talk him out of it. I still haven't forgiven him for that. It's a beautiful state with problems that can be fixed.

(4,309 posts)Ate, drank and smoked waaaay too much last night. Feeling the horrible effects this morning. Haven't felt so miserable about a national event since the start of the Iraq war and the Bush "re-election."
Very sickening.

I won't say here but I came home and just started shaking and crying.
People are so ignorant - for their whole lives they refuse to learn one fucking thing for the better when it comes to others that don't look like they do.
I want to to go live in a mountain cave. I don't want to have to talk with these people or have anything to do with them.
There is nothing I can do to make them think. Nothing. All I can do is make it different for my kid. And she is, she is not like those ignorant beasts.
