Yesterday afternoon an African-American couple was eating at the outside tables at Benny’s Burrito in Greenwich Village when a drunken man, complaining about his wife leaving him and his job at Goldman Sachs, crashed their table. Douglass Reddish, 25, the man with his girlfriend, tried to help the man steady himself but got a different response than he likely expected.

5. He went on a racist tirade using the N*word

a racist tirade about ‘n*ggers’ yesterday is apparently in critical condition after being punched in the face and knocked out cold. According to the New York Daily News, the incident took place Benny’s Burritos on Greenwich Avenue.

Witnesses say the man who got knocked out was “belting back beers” outside Benny’s Burritos when he began insulting black customers in the outdoor seating area. The white guy was overheard saying, “You n—–s are why I lost my job.” “This really belligerent white guy came walking up to them and started yelling out the n-word,” said Benny’s worker Robert Garcia.

Shortly after that, the lights went out for the obnoxious white guy. “There was some sort of altercation and it made the black guy punch the white guy in the face. He was out cold. I thought he was dead,” said a witness. “He was lying on his back unconscious with his arms and legs spread out,” a witness told the Daily News. “I couldn’t believe it. He mentioned the N-word, this guy hits him one time and he hits his head on the curb.”

Paramedics arrived and took the injured racist to the hospital. The man who knocked out the ranting white guy took off after the assault, but was later arrested. He is identified as 25 year old Douglas Reddish of Queens, New York.

ANOTHER ACCOUNT OF WHAT HAPPENED
A drunken Goldman Sachs employee, apparently angry over both his job and his dissolving marriage, started shouting racial slurs at a black couple yesterday evening in the West Village yesterday, before he was knocked out cold by a man who was trying to help him.

The unidentified man was passing a black couple eating at a burrito shop shortly before 6 P.M. when he stumbled into their table. Douglas Reddish, 25, tried to help the man regain his balance, when the drunken man lashed out at him.

“This ****** wants to fight me!” police say the drunken man yelled. "You ******s are why I lost my job."
