Obvious incompetence and tactical obtuseness on their part the whole way through...one of the worst closing statements I've ever seen from a prosecutor.
And they are all tied to a state power structure controlled by one of the most retrograde governors/legislature combos in any .state government in U.S. history.
They had nothing to gain by a conviction. With a conviction, they've thrown not just red meat, but whole banquet sized roast barons of red beef to the Tea Party/Kochhead/Just Barely Not Klan base of their party.
You wonder if they ever wanted to win.

(20,581 posts)certainly not by prosecuting the killer of a black child. The prosecutor's career path is secured in the teaparty/fascist future of Florida.

(7,759 posts)member of the team to speak and commend the Martins' behavior, there seemed to be smirks all over the prosecutor team faces...especially the woman who spoke. She seemed delighted with the verdict.
