(8,556 posts)I'm going to guess that he decries Pat's views but also says something about how his views resonate with many people and deserve to be heard.
I wouldn't expect a full-throated endorsement of the firing.

(131,197 posts)I wouldn't 'expect' ANYTHING.
Many of Buchanan's media colleagues seem to be somewhat sympathetic to him here, which makes sense I guess. You protect your own and many of them knew him personally and perhaps got along well with him. Mika and Joe have apparently publicly disagreed with the firing, for instance.
That's why I think that Tweety will not endorse it. On the other hand, he is all over the place. Perhaps he's also enough of a corporate toady to back anything the management does, though I doubt that too, since he publicly dissed Phil Donahue when MSNBC gave him a show about 10 years ago. Though on the other other hand, that might have stemmed from jealousy that Phil might become the premier star there. I don't think he much liked Keith Olbermann for the same reason. He's kind of a prima donna, it seems.

(21,925 posts)I guess when you work with someone over the years you see them differently. As a viewer, I don't care about Tweety's personal relationship with Buchanan. All I see is a jingoistic, anti-semitic, racially insensitive boor.

(5,602 posts)He is like your racist grandpa. They liked arguing with him and waiting to hear what he would say. I think they wanted to
get through to him.
