My Repug Neighbor Has A Theory On The 2012 Repug Nomination Process......

He says that the Repugs have conceded 2012 to Obama and the Dems and they want to paint Romney as a loser so he won't even think of or have a chance at using his money in 2016 to make another run for the presidency and go against Jebby in those primaries. He says they don't want Jebby to spend all his money against the bottomless moneypit of a Romney quest for the presidency. With Romney effectively out of the way - Jebby vaults to the top of the ladder of candidates for the 2016 Repug nomination - and he could do it rather cheaply and use his warchest to defeat the Dems in the presidential election.

Any thoughts - as I didn't really have a good response to his theory.

As crazy as it seems, I've talked to quite a few people who wax sentimental about the bu$h years. Just like Abe Lincoln noted, you can fool some of the people all of the time

I'm thinking they really don't want to win because they know within themselves they can't handle the job and that their policies will just muck things up now that the economy is headed in a more positive direction. They thought by thwarting the President on every turn things would really sink us into a whole, and just in time, they would win the Presidency, get their fat-cat friends to release the investment money back into the economy, take credit for saving America from the evil, Islamo-commie-foodstamp-loving Obama. I think they now know that they crossed the Rubicon with their anti-union, anti-job, anti-tax bullshit.

As we've seen.

But sounds like your neighbor thinks Obama's gonna win. And that's a good thing, as Martha says.

The pendulum has swung the other way and they cannot find an issue that will help them get their mojo back. Their wealthy donors did not get rich by playing to lose. I can't see them funding a cause they believe is a losing one.

Does Jebbie even have a warchest?

If so, I haven't heard anything about it. Secondly, is your neighbor aware that Jebbie is soft on illegal immigration, a nonstarter for your average Republicon? I don't think so.

Also, has your neighbor considered the distinct possibility that Frothy will win the nomination before Tampa?
