this showed up on my Facebook wall. posted by Occupy Vermont. it has over 2,000 shares.
caption:
"Hi everyone my leg was grotesquely broken when cops attacked our peaceful protest in Rhode Island. The mainstream media (especially the Associated Press) has ignored these horrendous photographs that show the horrific injuries I suffered when the cops attacked. Please feel free to make these telling photos available to all your friends who value freedom and liberty"
ON EDIT. It is real. google "Alexandra Svoboda" for more info.

(24,331 posts)That angle would require it be a compound fracture, which would result in a fair amount of bleeding.

(101,385 posts)So it's real; but it's from 2007, not from an Occupy protest (because the quote in the OP sort of looks like Occupy Vermont is saying it was their protest).

(20,599 posts)That one is almost always completely wrong, almost all the time.
That kind of track record is never accidental.

(1,448 posts)I had a compound fracture of my upper ankle. My tibia punched about 2 inches through the skin, and my foot dangled like a sack of onions being supported by tendons and skin. There was no blood and no pain, until I got to the ER. The EMTs told me that is usually how it is for compound fractures of the lower leg. But, to know for sure, we need the victim's name and ER report.
