What is your opinion of former CT senator Edith Prague?
I went out to breakfast with my moderate Republican in-laws while recently visiting my home state. The restaurant they go to is frequented by the Democratic senator Cathy Osten who replaced Edith Prague. They like her very much and introduced her to me. She talks to the patrons frequently about issues (mainly jobs) and asked my father in-law (who is a small business owner) what jobs he thinks should be created and point blank how can she help CT in that department.
I'm probably not explaining this very well and not giving her enough credit as I'm not trying to make her look stupid; I was actually quite impressed with her.
I was living in CT when Edith Prague first ran and voted for her. She has done good things such as fighting against the DP and collective bargaining rights for workers.
I did some research on the new senator then came across an article stating that Prague retired for health reasons last fall at age 87 (she had a stroke in 2011 and some heart problems), then approached Governor Malloy for a job in March as the commissioner of the new State Department on Aging, with a $120,000 yearly salary and got the job.
Please share your opinions as perhaps I'm not very informed about it, but I find it somewhat disturbing to retire for health reasons and then land a high paying job.
