Dublin rejects Snowden arrest plea (a possible refueling spot in Ireland)

Ireland has denied the US an arrest warrant for whistleblower Edward Snowden in case he lands in the country, it has been revealed.

The High Court in Dublin ruled that Washington DC security chiefs failed to show where alleged crimes had been committed by the former intelligence contractor.

The US applied for a provisional arrest warrant on Friday through its Ballsbridge embassy. Officials made the move after former spy Mr Snowden contacted 21 countries including Ireland seeking asylum.

There were concerns the fugitive intelligence officer, who has been living in the transit section of Moscow's Sheremetyevo-2 airport, would pass through Shannon airport en route to South America. A request for asylum in Ireland can only be considered if Snowden makes an application on arrival in the country.

it got itself involved in. Maybe they are finally listening to the PEOPLE there who are outraged over what was done to their country by the Austerity criminals.

There HAVE been calls for Ireland to grant him asylum even from some of their representatives. But while that is a good thing, he probably would not be safe there. South America is the only region of the world that is relatively free of Western Imperialistic influences.

Or "that crimes were commited"???

Peculiar wording, especially for a judge. "Where" implies a location.

Airbus 330 and Boeing 747 used by Aeroflot on Moscow to Havana flights have more than enough range...even if detoured far to the north to avoid possible overflight issues with Baltic and Scandinavian countries. Could even easily make Caracas, if a private charter flight.

the neoliberals and neocons and I hope that they have permanently wised up.

Also, I hope "Mr Fixer" George Mitchell isn't allowed back in the Irish Republic.
