I am constitutionally honest.

I have never knowingly made a false statement in hopes of shaping what another DUer thinks.

I have also never shaped a fact set... intentionally presented things through an incomplete series of facts tailored to deceive.

That is not the same as making an argument. An argument marshalls positive data in support of itself, of course. I am talking about propaganda. The intentional distortion of reality to gain the higher goal of fooling people or appearing to "win" or shutting down discussion. The intentional omission of facts that nullify an argument before it starts. You know... the stuff creationists do. The stuff Republicans do. That stuff.

There is some value in honesty. Perhaps not great value, but some value.

There are plenty of honest people in the world, and probably plenty of honest people on DU. Hats off to them.

I am so sick of the propaganda on DU - I come here to get AWAY from that kind of garbage which I used to see as almost exclusively conservative so I RESENT seeing it here - fuck them all
