MSNBC execs, realize your mistake, put Ed back on weeknights. Your ratings are suffering. Chris Hayes ratings are 1/2 the size of Ed's in the same time slot and Chris Hayes is bringing down the rest of the line up.

(26,117 posts)but I preferred Ed on weekdays and Hayes on Sat-Sun mornings.
"Up" with CH was a good show - and suited Hayes' style better, imo.

(21,478 posts)Chris is cerebral, and no knock at him, but right now we are hanging by a thread (see: Wisconsin, Texas, North Carolina on abortion), and we need Ed.
Now.

The general public is deficient in understanding ideas more than two words long. Chris Hayes is good for analysis and understanding of complex issues. Ed is good for the passion and real issues.
The public is probably to damned stupid to save itself. When you cannot put two ideas together or understand the cause and effect of complex issues and how to deal with them, you are essentially screwed. So many people are so dense to what is really going on the voter can be led around by the nose.
A good example is the failure of the Walker recall. The guy is a crook, a thief, a liar and has the personality of a serial murderer, yet people would NOT recall him. Any alternative was better than the damage that he continues to do Wisconsin and yet he will likely win again the GOPPERS are so damned stupid and racist their. What he has been doing is even detrimental to them.
So I do not know rather to feel sorry or disgusted for our country. We are fast going into the crapper because the public has the mental capacity of an amoeba in so many important ways.
Chris Hayes problem is that his intellect is too far beyond and above the "bubba and cracker class". Ed is good in bringing out "blood and guts" issues in a passionate way that need to be addressed. I believe the powers that be do not want any of his message out to the working crowd.

(4,869 posts)He's to the left of Ed and doesn't mix in hawkish neo-con foreign policy talking points.

(40,370 posts)I like Ed, but IMO, as you point out, he is prone to sipping foreign policy Koolaide. I prefer Chris.
