(33,688 posts)it's a part of the Kumho chaebol. I knew an American who served as corporate counsel for the Asiana division back in the early 2000s before he moved back here. Kumho is HUGE.

(22,000 posts)Under which jurisdiction would be the first questions since you have Americans, Koreans, and Chinese? I doubt it would be in China. The accident happened in the US and Asiana has offices here, so it would make sense it would happen in California.
Before all that they need to figure out what caused the crash. My inclinations are on pilot error or problems with the aircraft.

they've mentioned that an issue has already come to light about the legality of the runway which for whatever reason is 150 meters too short - entry should be 300 metres. There must be reason this has been mentioned.
