BREAKING: France Turns Down Snowden Asylum Request

France is rejecting a request for asylum from fugitive former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.

A French Interior Ministry statement says, "Given the legal analysis and the situation of the interested party, France will not agree" to the asylum request.

Meanwhile, there are signs Snowden is an increasingly unwelcome guest after spending the past 11 days in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport.

The Reuters news agency reports Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Thursday that Snowden "needs to choose a place to go." His remarks echoed comments by President Vladimir Putin, who has urged Snowden to leave as soon as he can.

There are also reports Russia wants to toss him out.

To Russia, Snowden is like that party guest who never leaves. It's the next morning, everyone is gone, you're hungover and yet there's some dude crashed on the couch wanting you to make him breakfast.

Thus the asylum rejections...no one wants a thief. Why should he be trusted?

Being that Putin is KGB, I don't think there is any doubt that that has already occurred. I don't think snowden will exit Russia alive.

If he is incapable of admitting his screw-ups and dealing with them, I wonder about his emotional stability.

He really only has 1 option, and that is to return to the United States.
