"Your (sic) a grand old flag"

I guess that video WAS made by a rightwinger, or else somebody in grade school who could not figure out what an "auld aquaintance" was.

And it's "every heart beats true, under red white and blue"

Why have we never fought to get it back? Did we just simply say, "Oh damn, you are so mean, you can just keep it?" This flag belongs to all of us.

Why do we not at every convention not highlight; Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy’s contribution to keeping our country safe. Democrats have done a very mediocre job in hailing Obama’s performance in curtailing Terrorist’s activities..

Not enough is nearly mentioned about his treatment of families involved with M.I.A family members.

There are other things which I will not mention, however if McCain was a dem. you would hear all sorts of info. on his military record. They have no fucking boundaries with anyone..

where all the money goes.

I don't disparage anyone who displays a flag.

We're the most aggressive country in the world, and we spend the most resources on our military by a huge factor, and therefore we lag in providing good public education, affordable college, healthcare, keeping up our infrastructure, making sure people don't die from hunger and preventable disease and the like. We rank high in obesity, illiteracy, gap between rich and poor, infant mortality, gun deaths, etc. Other countries have not let corporations completely take over their governments like we have.

Greatest? We could have been. But we squandered our chance.

Look at a lot of the countries in the ME.

There's China--no war there, not yet.

Mexico isn't exactly reticient. Neither is Haiti.

Nor many of the countries in Africa that are essentially at peace. Or regions in Europe. Iceland's had a bout of it. So has Catalonia.

If you consider Venezuela and Bolivia, Ecuador and Argentina, there's a pile of nationalism, some of it bordering on jingoism.

Only some nationalism gets panned. Other nationalisms seem to be applauded.

I didn't say it was bad, all of the time, in every situation.

I said it was a scary thing.

Nationalism can quickly evolve into "For the Fatherland".

I stand by what I wrote.

I have two of them on my vehicle. I see a lot of them on vehicles at job sites and union halls.
I usually fly the flag on the front of my house, but the pole was recently damaged by heavy winds.
I'm proud to be union and proud to be an American. Sneer all you want, it's one of your constitutional rights.
