The right-wing extremists that want to ban abortion claim the fetus feels pain during the procedure. They perform abortions under anesthesia and the theory that the fetus can feel pain is not proven, but that's what they say.

The theory that gunshot victims feel pain...well, that's not a theory. It hurts to get shot, and that is a known fact. Therefore, if we Must Ban Abortion Now because of a fringe theory that fetuses feel pain, we Must Ban Guns Now because of the established fact that getting shot hurts like hell.

Feels pain during an abortion, then just imagine what a baby feels during actual childbirth. Those fruit cakes should try squeezing themselves through a tube less than half their own width. One minute they're nice and warm and comfy. Next minute they're traveling head first through a small tube after being assaulted for hours by a cramping uterus, only to emerge to a cold room, blinded by bright lights. No wonder the little buggers scream!

If aborted embryos/fetuses go through that much pain, I'll eat my hat.
