Go ahead Glenn and lay it on us! What better day that the FOURTH OF JULY.
Another big National Security Agency scoop is coming soon, Glenn Greenwald said on Tuesday.
Just wait a little bit, youll have it, The Guardian journalist who broke the NSA surveillance story said on Fox & Friends.

The Guardian columnist who broke the story of Edward Snowdens National Security Agency leaks told Fox & Friends on Tuesday that President Barack Obama was pursuing the leaker to intimidate future whistleblowers.
Glenn Greenwald explained to Fox News host Eric Bolling that more NSA leaks were coming soon and that there were vast programs of both domestic and international spying that the world will be shocked to learn about that the NSA is engaged in without democratic accountability.
Bolling wondered if the Obama administration even wanted Snowden to return to the U.S. or is that going to look bad for them to have him in a U.S. court?
I think what the Obama administration wants and has been trying to establish for almost five years now with the unprecedented war on whistleblowers that it is waging is to make it so that everybody is petrified of coming forward with information about what our political officials are doing in the dark that is deceitful, illegal or corrupt, Greenwald said. They dont care about Edward Snowden at this point. He can no longer do anything that that he hasnt already done.

I think the contradiction is obvious.
But what I find truly intriguing is that GG, extolled by many here as the voice who speaks truth-to-power, is hawking his wares on a 'news' outlet known to be the propaganda arm of the Republican party.

(39,313 posts)I'm not sure I can accuse him of being after the Greenback, I think it's some kind of attention, and that's more insidious! He's got an ax to grind bigger than the Green Giant!

(89,250 posts)just because he has to deal with answering it now.
i don't think he wanted snowden to reveal the stuff about us spying on others, e specially places like china and give that info to china.
i think GG mostly wanted to make it about how Obama is spying on americans . but now he has to deal with these other things which makes one seem kind of stupid and hypocritical.

(39,313 posts)I posted this below, your post made me think of this at first. The set up in Hong Kong was different than what we have now. Assange was seemingly distant. I suspect Snowden had his own connections with hackers there.
Then Snowden gave an interview to the South China Morning Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. -- kind of a connection to what we see Greenwald doing with Fox -- but what has never been clear are the terms of the admission of hacking by the USA. If that was his exit from China strategy or what. Greenwald at the time said he had to ingratiate himself with the Chinese (maybe in order to stay). But I can see that Greenwald knew it was a strategic error
MADem
(135,425 posts)if he had any role in goading/baiting the guy into doing what he did. From looking at Snowden's previous online conversations, he doesn't have self-esteem issues, and he does affect that "smartest guy in the room" attitude. So...did he just jump...or was he pushed?

you must have made quite the impression on Rod Serling. Handsome man, was he not~
Just think, you could have become Mrs Cha Serling. Living your life in the Twilight Zone and opening doors with the key to your imagination! Living in a whole new dimension, wow how surreal is that!
A simple twist of fate sigh, you were married~~~~~

(297,275 posts)like his autograph.. he got a kick out of that.
We were living in California home two years later and I learned he had passed on from a heart attack in 1975. I was shocked!
I looked him up just now to find out that date(and really where I was living at the time) and saw where he was married, too! So, it would have been just a friendly little get together.
Turns out he was quite the activist.. and he was only 4 years younger than my Mom.
I always think of him though when I'm having one of my own personal little Twilight Zones.

(15,438 posts)Maybe that's the reason why GeeGee is now openly courting Murdoch's propaganda channel as well? Hoping to keep friends in high places purely out of self-preservation just in case s**t hits the fan - and even a mediocre lawyer like himself knows that the noose is slowly tightening around his neck. I know, pure speculation on my part {maybe even wishful thinking}, but it's not a far-fetched scenario considering how important Republicans and TeaBaggers believe themselves to be, first and foremost and above and beyond everything and everyone else.

(20,234 posts)I knew from the nonstop repetition of greenwald's name as a feminine name that they'd have something to say against gay marriage. They were okay with civil unions, just not marriage because it's against the bible.
Sort of like Paula Deen with the N word - you know it's not just a word, there's a whole pattern there, but she can't see it because she has a black friend.

"Gay marriage is for me unthinkable, but Civil Unions have my 100% vote. I believe that marriage is something done in churches, and the Bible does speak negatively about homosexuality.
However, allowed to be "married" by a Mayor, or a power-invested civil servant for gays, and lesbians, is right, and good.?
