Being middle eastern, I can tell you without exaggeration that they are the most conspiracy-minded folks you'll meet. EVERYTHING bad under the sun is somehow blamed on the US, Israel or a combination of both. First we were blamed for supporting Mubarak, then we "picked" Morsi to run and placed him there. Completely ignoring the fact that the dozens of secular groups there had splintered off, splitting the votes among them, while the conservatives all gathered around the MB, giving them the election.

I'm so happy that the Egyptians have taken control of their political process today. But they can't take credit for ousting their elected president without also taking credit for electing him in the first place.

While my parents are from Iraq, I'm an American born and raised

And yes, I agree that we should stay out. The Egyptians I know take great pride that they own their revolution, good or bad. There was no foreign-imposed "democracy" like Iraq, or a foreign-led insurgency like Syria. The minute we step in, we'll get zero credit and all of the blame.
