FDR KIn Lining -Up behind DeBlasio for NYC Mayor: NYT

For the most part, anyway. A couple are backing the Republican Lhota. ( The TR Branch, I guess. Good grief.) DeBlasio is "the only true progressive" in the race... according to FDR III.

But I could have told you that.

A Split in Allegiances Among Roosevelt Scions

They are the dynastic titans of New York progressive politics, governors-turned-presidents who forged a place in history by guiding the fate of their nation. But Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt were not entirely similar.

One was a frontiersman who boasted of elephant killings; the other edited his college newspaper. One fathered modern conservationism; the other gave birth to the New Deal. One ended up portrayed on Mount Rushmore, the other on the dime.

Now a new fissure has emerged. The New York City mayoral race has divided the pair’s descendants.

Franklin D. Roosevelt III, the president’s grandson and a professor emeritus at Sarah Lawrence College, on Tuesday endorsed Bill de Blasio, the left-leaning Democrat, calling him “the only true progressive in the race.”

Theodore Roosevelt IV, a great-grandson of the president and a banker at Barclays, is aiding Joseph J. Lhota, the conservative Republican and his neighbor in Brooklyn Heights.

It is a showdown of scions in a race that has already attracted some of the most prominent names in the American aristocracy.
