But most of them had gave an answer already, and the answer is no.
Even Ecuador, for crying out loud.
You know why?
No, not because of "The Great Obama Fascist Conspiracy."
Because would *YOU* trust Snowden in your country?
I wouldn't.
We already know he's a liar and hypocrite.

Not to mention the wealthy can get away with about anything in this country and make a profit doing it while those without will get nailed to the wall and sent to prison.
If we were a more just society I would be on the band wagon to get him back here and have a fair and open trial.
We are not.

You think the trial wouldn't be fair?

(48,121 posts)Prosecution: They will throw out there what they want and seal it as related to national security and hamper defense any chance they get. And if everything he says is true then perhaps his defense attorney's will be being watched and listened into as well....
I am sure there were some crimes somewhere involved but I think the biggest worry they have is that he may well have exposed crimes others were doing (don't see a big rush to fix the issues exposed and to bring any parties that may have broken those laws to justice).
Maybe we could have a trial in Germany under their legal system, betting the feds would choke on that and claim national security reasons. They want to get him here, control him, shut him up, and punish him.
You don't piss off the wealthy or powerful, or it will make news and you will be hounded the world over until caught.
Would that the government would work as hard on the 10 most wanted list and finding some killers and such....

Did Snowden leak classified documents to unauthorized individuals. Yes?
Trial in Germany? Now you just sound silly.

(48,121 posts)MIAMI (AP) Two Colombians who were facing the prospect of spending the rest of their lives in a U.S. prison for drug trafficking will go home much sooner after prosecutors were accused of withholding evidence about payments by the Drug Enforcement Administration to police in the South American country.

In other words, if they have evidence that could help him I could see them not releasing it and finding a national security reason not to allow some information into the trial which may show that he was a whistle blower protected under whistler blower laws:
"Whistleblower Protection provides freedom of speech for workers and contractors in certain situations. Laws, like the Ethics in Government Act, cannot be enforced if free speech is not protected for individuals that report corruption or crime in the workplace. The difficulty with free speech is that work-related information associated with Classified information in the United States can have a negative impact on national security and United States public debt. A Non-disclosure agreement creates similar conflicts in private business."
One could see the acts by the NSA/et al, as corruption or crimes - but those things are not being investigated as such (yet, anyway) and they could delay doing so which would harm his case and ability to claim protection.

(13,110 posts)By your reasoning would you trust the United States of America ?
The world already knows that the U.S. lies and are the worlds biggest hypocrites. (illegal invasions, occupations, torture, sanctions, financial terrorism etc.)
Lying and hypocrisy are their good attributes.
