This sucks

Tom Joad~
https://www.facebook.com/TomJoadLives?directed_target_id=0

If you haven't heard, Governor Perry has literally called in the cavalry to keep women in Texas from having a voice in their government. The second special session called by Perry to restrict abortion rights (in recess until July 9) has brought protestors to the state capitol - which will now be met by Department of Public Safety mounted police to control the crowd. Pepper spray and bean-bag rounds aren't far behind, ladies - so wear a helmet.

Wow. TX Legislators are pulling some nefarious, undemocratic shit RIGHT NOW!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=3152810

From the link on the OP:

http://juanitajean.com/

NEW UPDATE: There are between 500 to 1,000 anti-choice people here in the Capitol wearing blue. They are carrying signs and singing church songs.

For reasons that will soon become clear, the chairman of the committee reserved a room for the hearing that only holds 100 people. That information was apparently given to the blue people before the public got it. They have filled the room.

On top of that, the Governor has reserved every damn meeting room in the Capitol for the entire month. So, we have no where to go.

We are told we will get a room eventually...

I've seen this happen when ALEC bills were being rammed through where I live now. In a blue state. Those who have a stake in the legislation are not given a place to be, and I've even seen the packing the room tactic used in court cases as well as in the legislature.

In one of the many cases resisting an ALEC scheme, monied group picked up homeless people off the streets with promises of a lunch if they would sit in a courtroom. Maybe they were told it was for some cause to help the downtrodden who were about to be made homeless by the very people who picked them up but they could not have known that.

They didn't know what it was about, only that it was part of getting a meal. But it was done to deny the opposing side a place to be and a chance to testify. Just as being done here, one side speaks but by crowd control, the other is not.

The ones who are making the corporatist actions control the playing field and those who oppose, who will be gravely harmed, are kept waiting at the door or sent away. And the most outrageous and demented things have been said and done, even with thousands resisting. Literal grassroots with calling, going door to door, meeting with groups in the subject area, experts with long history of all venues, and they are not listened to.

The only thing that kept the GOP who were pushing the actions, were those old 'weak and spineless' Democrats. And they all were subjected to stuff that made Wendy's time in the capitol look like a Quinceañera.

You cannot underestimate the perfidity and corrupt practices of a Repugnant. It's like entering the Twilight Zone with them. An unusual take on why from another DUer:

Republicans serve The Beast:

From the dawn of mankind they are the regressive element that's been holding back and destroying our civilization. They nourish other-dimensional entities that feed on misery, pain, and chaos.

Republicans are their minions, and hope to share in these entities' power, or be spared the pain.

But The Beast never shares; The Beast never spares.

why, it's almost as if you don't grasp the ramifications of barring women from health care access. It's like you'd rather count angels on a pinhead, than think about what happens when fetus-worshipping misogynists take over the government. It's like forcing women into biological prison is not your concern.

who are you and why are you at this site? DUDE.

Women make up the majority percentage of those in poverty. The clinics that will be closed serve those women, and girls.

You knew that, right?

Or do you mean, just let Emergency rooms handle it, never mind how those bills get paid in the end?
Or, do you mean, of course those red-state talibans would never have Religious Belief rules that allow a professional reproductive terrorist to renege on his/her professional responsibility to serve the patient.

They should just refuse, unless they specifically want to have a baby. After all, with access to clinics so restricted, the risk just becomes too great. So, Texas women can just tell their husbands, boyfriends, etc., that they cannot have sex any longer because they don't have access to health clinics in the state if they should become pregnant.

After all, abstinence IS the only way to make sure you don't get pregnant, right?

Let's see how well that works out for the men in Texas--I'm guessing it won't last long.

Wed Jul 3, 2013, 05:37 PM
Jul 2013

They say they do this because they value life, and then at the same time do everything to go against a good life. If a very poor mother has her baby, she may need help from from the Gov, and these same conservatives will call her a moocher and having babies when she shouldn't. Cut programs that will give that baby a fighting chance. Mothers fuckers can't have it both ways.

You can say you value life, and then everything in your power to hamper said life when comes to the world. Cut food programs, school programs, programs that help mothers... yeah that really helps.

Tough "love" is how they view the world it solves everything in their minds, of course they hate it when they are subjected to any themselves. Republicans lack empathy you can only break them when its them that suffer, Thats how you debate a republican you have to tell them what they lose when they support destructive policy's, they don't give a rats ass when its others that suffer because they deserve it in their minds.

When i put the " " in love it really means they are a bit sadistic and their is no love.
