is a sign of stress.

Makes sense to me that anybody listening to a replay of a night where something very terrible happened is going to feel stress.

Not saying he's innocent, not saying he's guilty.

In fact, if he didn't blink...didn't show any stress emotion at all, THAT would be worrisome.
