Texas Senate recessed until July ninth

They changed the vote until july ninth to jack with the people attending. Ninth is unconfirmed date.

Ninth is confirmed.
Both houses of Texas congress recessed until July 9th.
The suspicion is repeated recesses until crowds can't return.

This sort of thing is pretty common with special sessions, convene, then adjourn for a week or so. I'd bet half the legislators had vacation plans for this week and they weren't too happy about Perry calling another session this week.

If Perry wasn't such a dickhead, he would have waited a month or so for the dust to settle and tempers to moderate. But he couldn't stand the fact that the Democrats won last week and spoiled the atmosphere for his now-postponed announcement as to whether he would runfor President again or settle for being Governor For Life.
